Magazine picks purple as easiest for decorating

Domino magazine has deemed “Embassy Purple” (TH No. 59) by Ralph Lauren the shade of violet paint that’s easiest to decorate with. “Embassy Purple” beat out 25 other shades in the magazine’s testing. The February issue offers the following advice on Purple Power decorating schemes: A small room is an ideal place to try out bold colors such as purple. Complement the purple by using vivid jewel tones such as ruby and emerald in upholstery, drapes and pillows. Mellow the look by choosing rustic or antique furniture with a subtle patina instead of sleek, mod metal pieces. If you want a luxe touch, perhaps a fancy chandelier, go for it. Purple is strong enough to support such dramatic flourishes.
