Man pleads guilty in stomping death

? A Topeka man has pleaded guilty in the stomping death last year of a man outside a Topeka apartment building.

Jeremy Kincy, 21, pleaded guilty this week to second-degree murder in the death of Randy Lyman as part of a plea agreement that avoided first-degree murder charges. He’s the second of three men charged in the crime to plead to a lesser offense.

Myron DeShawn Causey, 32, entered a similar plea last week and was sentenced to 17 years in prison. A trial is still pending for Arthur Wiseman III, 24.

Prosecutors alleged that Kincy and Causey tried to rob Lyman, 46, in the apartment building’s elevator on July 17 but that he pulled out a knife to protect himself. When they got outside, however, Lyman was knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked in the head, body and legs.
