Woman sentenced for aiding offender escape

? A Great Bend woman has been sentenced to 12 months in prison for helping a convicted child molester escape from the Sexual Predator Treatment Program at Larned State Hospital.

A Pawnee County judge ordered the sentence Thursday for Colean McKoy.

She was an employee at the hospital when Perry Isley fled Aug. 5 by hiding in a laundry bin placed outside for overnight pickup.

After he cut through security fences, McKoy drove him to a bus stop in Wichita.

He was caught the next day in Colorado.

The escape extended his sentence by 19 months.

McKoy pleaded no contest in October to aiding a person required to register as a Kansas offender.

In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dismissed a lesser charge of conspiracy to commit aggravated escape.
