Topeka ? Kansas will receive $200,000 as its share of a settlement agreement with Mattel Inc. and its Fisher-Price Inc. subsidiary.

The settlement with Kansas and 39 other states totaled $12 million.

Last year, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled about 2 million Mattel and Fisher-Price toys made in China, alleging the toys contained excessive lead in accessible surface coatings.

Kansas Attorney General Six said Mattel agreed to phase in more stringent standards ahead of the timelines provided by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act.
