Mom’s car hits home; she faces DUI charge
Overland Park ? A northeast Kansas woman faces drunken driving charges after crashing her car into a house while taking her four children to school.
Lynette Marie Rios, 31, was taken into custody after the crash at 8 a.m. Thursday in Overland Park. No one was seriously injured, and police took the children to school. They range in age from 5 to 12.
Besides the DUI charge, Rios also faces charges of driving with a suspended license, no booster seats and a car equipment violation.
Rios told police her brakes stopped working. She said she swerved into the house to avoid hitting a car stopped at a stop sign.
