Starting Sunday, events are scheduled to draw attention to Cover the Uninsured Week, a national campaign to increase awareness about people without health insurance.

A swing time and coffee is set for 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vt., to benefit Kansas Advocates for Better Care.

And Kansas University Medical Center will hold three lectures next week.

Dr. Dennis Sale, from Lawrence's Heartland Medical Clinic, will talk on Monday about providing health care to the underserved and uninsured. Corrie Edwards, executive director of Kansas Health Consumers Coalition, will talk Tuesday about the uninsured population in Kansas. And Cathy Harding, executive director for the Kansas Association of the Medically Underserved, will discuss government programs Wednesday.

All three lectures will be from noon to 1 p.m. at KUMC's Rieke Auditorium.
