Fort Riley ? Three soldiers from Fort Riley were killed Tuesday by an explosion in Baghdad, the Department of Defense announced Friday.

They were identified as Sgt. Joel L. Murray, 26, Kansas City, Kan.; Spc. David J. Lane, 20, Emporia; and Pvt. Randol S. Shelton, 22, Schiller Park, Ill.

The soldiers were all assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.
