Parade, flyover set for KU’s homecoming

Nothing says school spirit like corn dogs
James Milin champed the corn dog eating contest on Wescoe Beach this afternoon. The contest was part of KU's homecoming festivities. Enlarge video
The Kansas University homecoming parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
The parade route starts in front of the Kansas Union and continues along Jayhawk Boulevard to the Chi Omega fountain. Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is the grand marshal.
The homecoming football game against Nebraska starts at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Stadium.
Just before the football game, two F/A-18 fighter jets will fly over the stadium. The jets will be piloted by KU graduates Capt. Noah Marquardt and Capt. Michael Barnett.

with the Defense Dept running in the hole for funding…go figure how much it will cost us taxpayers for a flyover of two hi-performance jets for a football game…is KU footing the bill for the flyover? F-18's…hmmm…either Marines or Naval aviators.
