Kansas couple hit Missouri Lotto jackpot

? A Kansas couple has won a $2.6 million jackpot in the Missouri Lottery after picking all six Lotto numbers.

William and Elizabeth Berg of Leawood, Kansas, purchased their winning Lotto ticket at a QuickTrip in Kansas City on September 1st.

The 76-year-old William Berg told lottery officials he and his wife plan to save the money for their family. The couple claimed their prize on October 18th, deciding to take the cash option worth about $1.6 million.

The Bergs let the computer pick the winning numbers of 5, 23, 27, 34, 41 and 43.

Officer pulls over car, then helps with birth

Spring Hill – A Spring Hill police officer helped deliver a baby Thursday morning after stopping the infant’s parents for speeding.

Police said Officer Andrew Peterson pulled over the speeding family on U.S. 169 at the 175th Street intersection in Spring Hill in eastern Kansas. The father, David Grate, got of the driver’s side of his vehicle and alerted Peterson that his wife was giving birth.

The officer then helped the mother, Charlotte, with the birth of the baby boy, Matthew.

Peterson wrapped the newborn in his jacket until paramedics with the South Johnson County Fire Department arrived to take the family to a nearby hospital.
