The Governor’s Arts Awards annually honor artists, organizations, arts educators, communities, schools and arts supporters who have made outstanding arts and cultural contributions to Kansas and the nation.

Winners are nominated by Kansas citizens or organizations seeking to recognize the work of those who contribute to the arts in Kansas.

Award recipients are selected from among the nominees by a panel including members of the arts commission, a representative of the governor, and representatives from various arts disciplines and organizations.
