Air Force Airman 1st Class Francisco Sanchez graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

During the six weeks of training, Sanchez studied the Air Force mission and organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received training in areas including physical fitness, rifle marksmanship, field exercises and human relations.

Sanchez, a 2005 graduate of Lawrence High School, is the son of Carlos Sanchez, Lawrence, and Marlene Sanchez.

Army Reserve Pvt. Cody G. Sherman graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, Sherman studied the Army mission, and other areas of instruction included drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use and field maneuvers and tactics.

Sherman is the son of Michelle Sherman, Lawrence.

Army Reserve Pvt. James A. Templeton graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, Templeton studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values.

Other areas of instruction and practice included physical fitness, basic combat skills, chemical warfare and rifle marksmanship.

Templeton, a 2007 graduate of Eudora High School, is the son of Barbara Workman, Eudora.
