Bradford replaces one of his division chiefs, Bill Stark, who spent a week in that role. Bradford also will be in Greensburg for a week.

Six Lawrence police officers have been in Greensburg this week and 10 other Lawrence officers will relieve them Sunday for a one-week deployment.

Several Douglas County employees from various departments also are working in Greensburg.

The city and county employees are providing assistance requested through the Kansas Division of Emergency Management. They volunteered for the assignment with the approval of their department administrators. They remain on their local government payroll while in Greensburg.
