To the editor:

I am writing to thank the people of Lawrence who responded to the request for storage containers for Greensburg. So many of my neighbors here in the country lost their entire farmsteads (homes, barns, equipment and livestock), and you have seen the pictures of the devastation in town.

It took me just one phone call, and within three days we were delivered containers of various sizes that could be stacked and stored safely while our community rebuilds. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to distribute more than 600 totes in and around Greensburg. The recipients were truly grateful and were touched that so many people in Lawrence care. I especially want to thank Monica Foltz and everyone at Kennedy Glass for collecting, packing, hauling and helping distribute your welcomed donations.
