The Enlisted Association of the National Guard of Kansas is hosting its 35th annual convention in Lawrence.

The conference, which runs through today, is at the Lawrence Holidome, 200 McDonald Drive.

Command Sgt. Maj. John D. Gipe is the guest speaker.

Gipe serves as a representative and advocate for more than 310,000 soldiers and noncommissioned officers for the Army National Guard.

Other events at the convention include council meetings and a social this evening.
