LIBERAL ? The highway patrol says a man is dead after his bicycle was hit by a motorcycle in southwest Kansas.

Troopers say 50-year-old William Nedell of Garden City was killed when his bicycle was struck by a 2006 Harley-Davidson at 5:30 p.m. Thursday on a county road 1 mile north of Liberal. The eastbound motorcycle was driven by 25-year-old Joshua Martinez of Liberal.

Nedell was dead at the scene.

Martinez was taken to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal with undisclosed injuries.
