Resurfacing projects affect state highways

The Kansas Department of Transportation on Thursday will begin resurfacing sections of two highways in Jefferson and Leavenworth counties.

The work will take place on Kansas Highway 16 from U.S. Highway 59 east to Tonganoxie. Resurfacing also will be done on Kansas Highway 192 from U.S. 59 east to the Leavenworth County line.

Traffic on K-16 and K-192 will be restricted to one lane throughout the project. Flaggers will coordinate with pilot cars to guide traffic. Drivers should expect minor delays. KDOT encourages drivers to use alternate routes.

The projects are scheduled to be done in late summer.
