Paola ? Sheriff’s officials in Miami County are investigating a fatal collision early Friday morning involving a train and car.

The woman killed in the crash was identified as Julie Eades, 59, of Independence.

Miami County officials said that about 2:15 a.m., Eades’ 2002 Chevrolet Impala was northbound on the tracks when it was struck by a southbound train.

Miami County Undersheriff Mark Schmidt said the woman might have been disoriented. He said there was alcohol in the car.
