Roberts named keynote speaker at banquet

U.S. Sen. Pat Roberts, R-Kan., will be the featured speaker when Republicans from across the state gather for the 115th annual Kansas Day celebration Jan. 25-27 in Topeka.

Roberts will speak at 7 p.m. Jan. 27 in the Kansas Day Club Banquet in the Capitol Plaza Hotel. State Republicans traditionally congregate in Topeka on or near Jan. 29, the day Kansas became a state in 1861.

Roberts is a fourth generation Kansan from Dodge City and is an eight-term congressman. He is in his second term as senator.
