Last man sentenced in musician slaying

? The last of four men convicted in the shooting death of a Kansas City Symphony musician was sentenced Friday to 17 years in prison.

Jonathan A. Box, 19, was one of four men convicted in the death of Steven Peters, a double bass player. Peters, 51, died in September 2005 at his Independence duplex in what Jackson County prosecutors described as a botched burglary.

Last month, Michael A. Jones, 19, agreed to a plea bargain in the killing and was also sentenced 10 years in prison for second-degree murder and three years for armed criminal action.

Two other suspects – Richard Jones, of Kansas City, and Sylvon Sese, of Independence – have been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
