A 2-year-old Franklin County girl was flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., Tuesday after her father backed over her with his car.

The accident occurred about 2 p.m. According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the 49-year-old father was backing out of his garage at 4439 Utah Road in Wellsville. Authorities said he did not know his daughter was behind the car. The child is in serious condition and is recovering from her injuries, authorities said.
