Lewis and Clark Center to replace Bell Hall
Fort Leavenworth ? The $115 million Lewis and Clark Center, a new state-of-the-art educational building, will be dedicated Aug. 13 at Fort Leavenworth.
The dedication includes the induction of Louisiana Purchase explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, the building’s namesakes, into the Fort Leavenworth Hall of Fame.
The Lewis and Clark Center replaces Bell Hall, which had been home to the U.S. Army’s Command and General Staff College since 1958.
The dedication will be at 10 a.m. and will be preceded at 8:30 a.m. by the traditional international flag ceremony welcoming the international military students to the fort. It also will signify the August start of the Command and General Staff College’s intermediate level education course.
The events are open to the public.
