University of Missouri interim president starts

Gordon Lamb officially began duties Monday as interim president of the University of Missouri four-campus system.

The MU Board of Curators formally agreed last week that Lamb would oversee the University of Missouri campuses in Kansas City, Rolla, St. Louis and Columbia.

Lamb, a former interim chancellor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, will have full leadership and decision-making authority over the system while the board of curators seeks to fill the position permanently, said Jennifer Hollingshead, assistant director of university communications.

“We considered various candidates for the interim presidency and it was unanimously decided that Dr. Gordon Lamb would be the best person to serve the University of Missouri system during this time of change,” Don Walsworth, chairman of the board of curators, said in a news release.
