Wichita ? A Cheney woman has been charged with attempted first-degree murder for allegedly poisoning her husband.

Melissa Jones, 29, was charged Tuesday in Sedgwick County District Court for allegedly putting a potentially fatal nonprescription drug in her husband’s drink on Aug. 13, police said.

Her husband, Charles Aaron Jones, filed for divorce last week.

Bond was set for $75,000, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 26.
