VA medical center delays flu shot clinics

All flu shots clinics are being delayed for at least two weeks at the Colmery-O’Neil Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Topeka.

The vaccine vendor is having delivery problems, according to the VA. All veterans are asked to call their primary care team for more information on the availability of flu vaccine and clinics.

Flu clinics in Douglas County and throughout the state have been stopped for now because of recent vaccine delivery problems.

Public health officials say there is not a vaccine shortage and that more vaccine shipments are expected.
