Hay, grazing event set for Dec. 13-14
Laws governing hay transportation will be among the topics covered during the 2006 Kansas Hay and Grazing Conference, set for Dec. 13 and 14 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson.
The conference will include several speakers and 14 topics to be covered during breakout sessions. Among the topics: weed and brush control, grazing horses, forage selection for grass-fed beef, planting and establishing eastern gamagrass, filling the forage gap in drought times, economics of Roundup Ready Alfalfa and marketing certified weed-free hay.
The conference also includes commercial exhibitors, evening entertainment and a product auction. Cost is $70 a person and $50 for each additional person, when registering by Dec. 8. Walk-up registration is $120.
