A 15-year-old boy was pulled Saturday morning from the Melvern Reservoir at Eisenhower State Park in Osage County.

Emergency responders transported Jeremy Guillroy, of Kansas City, Kan., to a local hospital, where he died later Saturday, according to a news release from the Osage County Sheriff’s Department.

Witnesses told park staff and sheriff’s officers that the boy attempted to swim across a cove in a restricted area. Park and sheriff’s officers are continuing to investigate the incident.
