Law enforcement report

Douglas County Sheriff’s officers and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical officials responded to a leaking natural gas pipeline early Sunday south of Lawrence.

A passerby reported a pipeline along the 600 section of East 1450 Road with an inch-wide hole leaking natural gas Sunday. Emergency crews blocked part of the road and contacted a repair company to fix the hole.

The repairs will continue today, and portions of East 1450 Road will be closed.
