Teen pleads guilty in stepfather’s stabbing

? A Topeka teenager who had two trials end in hung juries has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the stabbing death of his stepfather.

James Raymond Roberts-Watkins, 15, was scheduled to go on trial for a third time today in the death July 17 of Konard Miller, 50.

Instead, Roberts-Watkins pleaded guilty Friday in a hearing in Shawnee County before District Court Judge Frank Yeoman. He is to be sentenced June 5. Roberts-Watkins, whose case is being handled in juvenile court, could face sentences ranging from probation to three years behind bars.
