Inspector finds body

? A city inspector on Thursday discovered the body of an unidentified man on the same plot where the remains of another man were found last summer.

Police Capt. Mike Utz said the inspector discovered the corpse in a camper behind a vacant home while carrying out a routine inspection. An identification of the body was pending, and the remains, which had been in the camper for about a week, were taken to Wichita for an autopsy.

Utz said officials suspect the victim – described as a white man in his 50s – was homeless. He said authorities did not know the cause of death.

Thursday’s find came about a year after the discovery of skeletal remains inside the home on the lot. Officials in December determined those remains belonged to Garry Scheuchzer, 68, though they still do not know how he died.

Utz said, it was “highly doubtful” the two deaths were connected.
