Topeka ? She doesn’t have an opponent in Tuesday’s primary, but Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is reminding folks who the commander in chief of the state is with a new political ad.

The ad, shown statewide, shows Sebelius at military events, including visiting troops in Iraq at Thanksgiving and signing the Military Bill of Rights.

Sebelius, a Democrat, faces no opposition in Tuesday’s primary. Seven Republicans are vying for the opportunity to challenge her in the Nov. 7 general election.

Nicole Corcoran, a spokeswoman for Sebelius, said the governor placed the campaign ad to make sure “Kansans have a full understanding of her leadership, her principles and the progress she and the people of Kansas have achieved together.”
