? An Olathe man was charged Tuesday with the rape and death of a woman whose remains were found in the woods near Paola and who had being missing for two months.

Investigators found the remains of Alieghya Clark, 21, of Olathe, on Friday after receiving a tip. They also recovered evidence in the case from Olathe’s Frisco Lake, less than a mile from Clark’s apartment.

Dale Ratliff, 46, right, was charged in Miami County District Court with capital murder and rape. He was already in the Johnson County jail on unrelated charges and was being held on $1 million bond.

Tuesday’s announcement was the first time authorities had said Clark was raped.

Until Clark’s remains were identified Monday, law enforcement had treated her disappearance as a missing person’s case. She was last seen on May 28 in Johnson County.
