Emporia State faces search for president
Kay Schallenkamp, president of Emporia State University, announced this week she will leave her post at the end of June. Schallenkamp, who has been at Emporia State since 1997, will take a similar post at Black Hills State University in South Dakota.
Kansas Board of Regents President and CEO Reginald Robinson, who has been in the running for dean of Kansas University’s School of Law, said Friday he had not considered applying for Schallenkamp’s seat, despite some talk among Robinson supporters that he would make a strong candidate for the job.
“I just haven’t thought about it and have no response beyond that,” he said.
Robinson declined comment on whether he was still being considered for the KU deanship, though a source at the school said his name had been withdrawn from consideration.
Robinson and three others visited KU as law dean finalists. The university has not announced its pick.
Regent Dick Bond said Friday he’d heard of no names for candidates for Schallenkamp’s position.
