KANSAS CITY, KAN. ? A man believed responsible for firing shots at a lighting plant in an industrial area killed himself a short time later at his Missouri home, authorities said Tuesday.

Officers were sent to the Midwest Lighting Solutions plant around 2:30 p.m. after receiving a report that shots had been fired, said Sgt. Steve Haulmark of the Kansas City, Kan., Police Department.

He said the suspect was gone when officers arrived.

Haulmark said he was not aware of any injuries . He also said he didn’t have any information about whether the suspect was a former worker.
