Police search for gas station robber
Ottawa ? Police are trying to find a man who robbed a gas station early Thursday in Ottawa.
Ottawa Police Capt. Randy Allan said the man entered the Phillips 66 gas station at 216 E. 23rd St. shortly before 5:40 a.m., walked behind the counter and demanded cash.
The suspect opened the register, took an undisclosed amount of cash and left through the business’ north door. He did not display a weapon.
He was described as a black male about 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, wearing baggy blue jeans with embroidered back pockets and a black puffy coat with a fur-lined hood.
He was last seen getting into a maroon minivan with gray rocker panels that was leaving the store headed east on 23rd Street.
He may have been accompanied by a Hispanic woman in her early 20s about 5 feet tall and 110 pounds with long, dark hair parted on the left side.
