Kansas City, Mo ? Two tractor-trailers were involved in an accident on eastbound Interstate 70 on Monday, killing at least one person, Kansas City police spokesman Capt. Rich Lockhart said.

The accident happened at 2:43 p.m. on I-70 at I-435, resulting in one of the tractor-trailers catching fire. Police did not release the identity of the victim.

Eastbound lanes of I-70 remained closed at I-435 around 7:30 p.m. as Kansas City police investigated the accident. But westbound lanes had reopened, said L.C. Clark, supervisor of communications.
