Few details released in homicide investigation

? Police are investigating the city’s first homicide in at least two decades, but authorities have revealed few details about the death.

Bonnie Galloway, 37, was found in her home Sunday afternoon after her mother, Barb Carithers, was unable to get an answer at the door.

Monty McDade, owner of Kelley’s Lockout and Locksmithing, said he opened the door and immediately had Carithers call 911.

Friday was the last time anyone reported seeing Galloway alive.

“I gained entry and discovered what happened,” McDade said. “I can’t elaborate, but it’s the sort of thing you can see every time you close your eyes.”

Galloway was arrested in September on a number of drug-related offenses and was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday.

Authorities would not say how she died or whether her death was related to the drug case.
