Comedian to open Kansas State Fair

? Comedian Bill Engvall will be the opening night grandstand performer at this year’s Kansas State Fair, which announced completion of the entertainment schedule for the Sept. 8-17 event.

Engvall, with Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy, co-founded the popular Blue Collar Comedy Tour. His performance opens the fair entertainment on Friday evening, Sept. 8.

Other entertainers will include Raven Symone and Lil’ J of the “That’s So Raven” television show, who perform on Sept. 15, and Sugarland, the country music duo of Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush, who will appear on Sept. 16 with Trent Tomlinson, a young country singer and finalist in the TNN talent competition.

The entertainment lineup also includes Carrie Underwood, last year’s “American Idol” winner, on Sept. 9; Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd on Sept. 10; country singers Trace Adkins and Miranda Lambert on Sept. 13; and the Steve Miller Band on Sept. 17, the final night of the fair.
