Independance, Mo. ? Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan will be the first recipient of the Truman Medal for Economic Policy, the Harry S. Truman Presidential Museum and Library announced Thursday.

The award will be presented during an Oct. 26 luncheon at the Marriott Muehlebach Hotel in Kansas City.

The award was created to “recognize exceptional economic policy contributions,” according to the library.
