Suspects in restaurant robbery arrested

? Three men suspected of robbing a Sonic Drive-In in De Soto of $1,400 at gun point late Wednesday were arrested in Lenexa early Thursday, authorities said.

Deputy Tom Erickson, of the Johnson County Sheriff’s office, recounted events of the alleged robbery in a statement released Thursday.

At 11:40 p.m., two suspects entered the restaurant in the 34000 block of West 91st Street. They wore white T-shirts over their heads and socks on their hands.

A male was armed with a handgun. He and another man demanded money. They received three bags containing about $1,400.

The suspects then fled in a blue Ford Mustang. On Interstate 435, officers with the Lenexa Police Department later stopped a vehicle that matched the description given by Johnson County dispatchers.

Police discovered a third subject in the vehicle and arrested an 18-year-old De Soto man, a 20-year-old Olathe man and an 18-year-old man from Kansas City, Mo.

Officers booked the three into New Century Adult Detention Center on aggravated robbery and aggravated assault charges. Erickson said the three were not formally charged in court Thursday.
