Fort Riley - A Fort Riley soldier from Illinois was killed Thursday in Iraq when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle, the Army said Friday.

Killed was Pfc. Wyatt Dale Eisenhauer, 26, of Pinckneyville, Ill. The incident occurred in Mahmudiyah, south of Baghdad. Eisenhauer is the 51st soldier from Fort Riley to die in Iraq.

Fort Riley spokeswoman Sam Robinson said Eisenhauer was a cavalry scout with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 70th Armor, 3rd Brigade of the 1st Armored Division.

Eisenhauer enlisted in the Army in June 2004 and had been at Fort Riley since October. He was deployed to Iraq in February.
