Topeka — An inquiry is under way and could lead to disciplinary action against a Saline County district judge accused of using his office computer to obtain access to sexually explicit materials.
An examiner filed a notice Tuesday with the state Commission on Judicial Qualifications, outlining the allegations against Judge George Robertson. The judge has 20 days to respond.
Robertson, appointed to the bench in 1995, has been allowed to handle only administrative matters for the past month. His salary is about $103,000.
The notice said Robertson used his computer "over an extended period" to obtain images, messages and other material from pornographic Web sites.
Robertson was not available in his Salina office. A message left at a home telephone listing in Bennington under his name was not returned.
A commission panel would make recommendations to the Kansas Supreme Court on whether Robertson should face sanctions.
