Hollywood memorabilia the star of the show at Wichita estate sale

? Letters, cards, programs, books, cast albums and video boxes autographed by Hollywood stars such as Ethel Merman, Gena Rowlands and Jean Stapleton are among items owned by hairdresser Dale Isaacs that will be sold this week.

Those items will be available at a three-day estate sale in Wichita.

Isaacs, a longtime Hollywood hairdresser who owned a vacation home in Eureka, about 70 miles east of Wichita, is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Isaacs, 59, has no family to inherit, so his conservators have decided to sell his Kansas property, said George Byfield, appraiser in charge of the sale.

The Hollywood memorabilia includes a framed poster of the Broadway play “M. Butterfly” signed by most cast members when the company toured in 1990; beast claws worn by Fred Inkley in the national tour of “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast” from 1995-98; and a framed fashion sketch of Edie Adams signed by designer Edith Head.

Other items include art works, china, crystal and antique furniture.

“It’s the most unique sale we’ve had because of the Hollywood memorabilia. You just don’t find these things in Wichita,” said Janice Byfield, wife and partner in Byfield & Byfield in Augusta.

The estate sale will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Clifton Square Shopping Village.
