Sandra Bullock weds biker Jesse James

Solvang, Calif. – Actress Sandra Bullock married mechanic and reality TV star Jesse James at a ranch near Santa Barbara, according to reports.

Bullock, 40, and James, 35, exchanged vows Saturday in front of several hundred guests at the Folded Hills Ranch in Santa Ynez Valley’s wine country.

Guests included actor William Shatner, actresses Jamie Lee Curtis and Regina King, and Metallica lead singer James Hetfield, according to “Entertainment Tonight” and Us Weekly magazine.

Many in Hollywood have been surprised at the pairing of the tattooed bad boy James and the on-screen good girl Bullock. They met in 2003.

It’s the first marriage for “Miss Congeniality” star Bullock, who had been engaged to actor Tate Donovan. She recently played the wife of a district attorney in the film “Crash.”

James, who previously married twice and has three children, appears on The Discovery Channel’s “Monster Garage.”

‘Desperate Housewives’ creator to add dastardly deeds

Los Angeles – Next season on “Desperate Housewives”: darker storylines and some dastardly deeds by a new neighbor.

So says the show’s creator, Marc Cherry, still buoyant from the show’s 15 Emmy nominations, tying “Will & Grace” as the year’s top-nominated series.

“Thrilled, thrilled, thrilled!” said Cherry. “I can’t even think of another word. I was just really, really happy.”

He promises next year will bring “more surprises, twists and turns.”

“We’re going darker with some of the storylines, and Alfre Woodard’s (new neighbor) character is just up to no good on that street,” he said.

Cherry and series star Marcia Cross, who plays “Housewives”‘ uptight heroine Bree Van de Camp, carefully dropped second-season tidbits Saturday at a panel discussion dubbed “Queer is Just a Frame of Mind on Wisteria Lane” – part of Outfest 2005: The 23rd Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.

Cherry is gay, as are some of the others on his writing staff – and many fans.

“I think any time you get four or five really strong women doing desperate, dastardly things, I think gay men get a big kick out of it,” Cherry told AP Television News. “The moment you put a woman in an evening gown mowing the lawn, it’s just gay.”

Carrie Underwood tapped for Sketchers ad campaign

Oklahoma City – “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood is filling the shoes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera – at least in an ad campaign.

Underwood agreed to an endorsement deal with Skechers, a California sneaker maker that also has used Spears and Aguilera in its advertising.

“It is such a hip company with a great attitude and image,” said Underwood, whose first single, “Inside Your Heaven” debuted at No. 1 on four music charts.
