Fire destroys business east of downtown
Wichita ? A predawn building fire Wednesday just east of downtown Wichita destroyed at least one business, a fire official said.
No injuries were immediately reported.
The multialarm fire was reported shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday by a passer-by who spotted flames coming from the roof of the two-story brick building, said Fire Marshal Ed Bricknell.
At least one business in the structure, a floral shop identified as Twigs, was destroyed, Bricknell said.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated. More than 40 firefighters were dispatched to the scene on East Douglas Avenue.
