TROY ? A 21-year-old woman was sentenced Friday to life in prison in the death of her infant daughter.

Sarah Henderson, of Elwood, pleaded no contest last month in Doniphan County District Court to first-degree murder in the October 2004 death of TyAnn Denise Henderson Orcutt, who was about 3 months old.

In imposing the sentence, District Judge John Weingart said there was evidence of a “pattern of significant abuse.” An autopsy showed the child bled to death from a split liver.
