Transportation funding to be discussed today
Topeka ? Funding problems have hit the state’s $13.5 billion comprehensive transportation plan.
Kansas Department of Transportation Secretary Deb Miller is scheduled to outline the situation today at a news conference.
But on Monday, the agency said less money from the federal transportation bill and unexpected demands on federal and state resources had created potential funding shortfalls.
The 10-year plan started in 1999. State officials re-structured the financing in 2004 to ensure that all projects in it would be completed.
