Stolen furs found during traffic stop

December 4, 2005

— A Las Vegas man was charged Friday with interstate transport of stolen property after officers found several boxes of stolen furs and other items in the truck he was driving, the FBI said.

The items found after a routine traffic stop Monday near Goddard were valued at $500,000, the FBI said. The furs apparently were stolen from a Dicker and Dicker of Beverly Hills store in Clayton, Mo., prosecutors said.

Harold L. Walker was arrested for driving with a suspended license after a Goddard police officer stopped him on U.S. 54 for driving a truck that had no working tail lights.

After police impounded the truck, they found seven boxes containing furs, scarves and purses, according to the probable cause affidavit filed by the FBI.

Of the 174 recovered items, the FBI said, 165 still had Dicker and Dicker sales tags on them.
