Ottawa police are seeking the public's help in identifying a masked person - possibly a woman - who robbed the Logan 66 gas station at gunpoint Wednesday night.
The gas station, at 804 E. Logan, was robbed about 8:47 p.m. Wednesday, according to Ottawa Police Capt. Randy Allan, who released a statement to the media shortly before noon today.
Allan said the employee at the station reported to officers that a lone person entered the business wearing blue jeans, a blue hooded jacket and a black ski mask.
"The suspect pulled out a handgun and ordered the cashier to empty out his cash drawer," Allan said. "The employee stated that (the) suspect's voice sounded to be that of a female."
Allan said the money was given to the suspect and he or she left. No one was injured, Allan said.
The suspect was last seen getting into a white car at the intersections of Cedar and Powhattan streets, Allan said.
"I encourage anyone who has information about this incident to call and speak with an Ottawa police officer or to call the TIPS hotline at 1-888-8477 to offer anonymous information.
"The TIPS hotline program does make arrangements to pay for valuable anonymous tips that lead to an arrest and that is done anonymously also," Allan said.
