Airport director pleads to harassment, threats

? The director of Garden City Regional Airport has pleaded no contest to threatening to kill one woman and making harassing phone calls to several other women.

Ron Hall, 37, entered the plea Friday after his attorney reached an agreement with the Finney County Attorney’s Office.

The deal called for him to plead no contest to one count of felony criminal threat, one count of criminal trespassing and three counts of phone harassment. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors agreed to drop two counts of felony criminal threat, one count of sexual battery and 37 counts of phone harassment.

Hall, who has been living in Toledo, Ohio, while free on bond, became the city airport director in September 2003.

Police said the investigation began in February when two Garden City women told police Hall they had been harassed by Hall numerous times over the telephone. Prosecutors said one woman said that Hall threatened to kill her in December.

Prosecutors said three other women each received harassing phone calls from Hall in February.

Hall was arrested in late February and resigned from his position in early March.

Sentencing has been set for Oct. 31.
