State tax receipts up from last year
Topeka ? State tax receipts are up 4.7 percent, the Kansas Legislative Research Department reports.
From July 1, 2004, which was the start of the fiscal year, through March, the state collected $3.25 billion, up from $3.1 billion during the same time period in the previous fiscal year.
The increase has also surpassed revenue estimates that were made in November by $52.5 million, or 1.6 percent.
On April 18, budget experts will meet again to modify revenue estimates.
These estimates are used by the Legislature in setting budgets.
